The head-on collision between Europe and Asia is a complete one, and its epicentre can be found in the enchanting and exciting Istanbul. The strategic location between two continents and two oceans has created a natural discrepancy between the Asian and European parts of Istanbul. The city is split by the Bosphorus’ blue-green waters and it’s almost impossible not to be seduced by the mythical atmosphere. Lots of colours, endless scents and a mix of known or unknown sounds greets you in this exciting city, that is perfectly suited for a relaxing weekend trip. On the west side you will find the best shopping, the trendiest entertainment and the most spectacular attractions. Istanbul has thousands of years of golden history, and you will get a sample of it by visiting the Sultan’s Topkapi palace, Hagia Sofia, Sultan Ahmed Mosque and the large bazaar. Entertainment in Istanbul is multifaceted and you will feel comfortable close to the boulevard Istiklal.
Istanbul is vibrating with the influences from a lot of different cultures and the contrast between people is enormous. Treat yourself to a city vacation in Istanbul, the memories will be long-lasting!
Where should you stay?
Istanbul is a big city, but many of the attractions are mostly gathered together. We have several years of experience from trips to Istanbul, both privately and professionally. Our recommendation when travelling to Istanbul for the first time is to stay on the European side, either in the Old Town or in the Pera-area.
